We had just arrived in Hanoi from Singapore... It was 40 degrees plus and we had been wondering the streets of downtown Hanoi looking for our hotel for what seemed like forever... Once we arrived we were greeted but that famous vietnamese smile, lead up the narrowest staircase in all of Asia, squeezing our backpacks through ancient walls and into a tiny room to settle in for the evening... and boy did we settle in, after our day in transit there was nothing to do but take off the majority of our clothes... grab a beer and casually recline in front of the fan... metally preparing for the day of exploring we had ahead of us...
This may not be a amazing landscape from Halong bay or a atmospheric market shot from Saigon but every time i look at it it reminds me of what travel is all about... the journey - not to mention the sweet relief of getting to your chosen destination...
